Concierge

Concierge is the first built-in, setup-aware helper that lives inside the Wayland desktop app. It is the assistant you ask when you want to know what Wayland can do or how to get something working, and it answers from your Wayland rather than a generic manual.

This is a first v1, shipped out the door, with more planned. What it already does is read your actual setup and answer from it, and propose changes you can apply with one click.

It reads your actual setup

Concierge is setup-aware. Before it answers, it looks at the Wayland you actually have:

The models and providers you have connected.
The skills you have added.
The scheduled tasks you have set up.

Because it reads your real configuration, its answers fit your install. If you ask how to do something you are already set up for, it says so. If something is missing, it tells you what to connect first instead of walking you through steps that do not apply to you.

The kinds of questions it answers

Ask Concierge anything in plain language. For example:

“What can Wayland do?” It explains the app in terms of what you have set up, not an abstract feature list.
“How do I connect Claude?” It points you at the right path for your setup. See Connect Claude.
“Why didn’t my task run?” It looks at your scheduled tasks and explains what it sees.

Answers come back as short, plain-English steps. The goal is a clear next action, not a wall of documentation.

Propose, confirm, apply

Concierge does more than explain. It can also set things up for you. When a question has a fix, it proposes the change, shows a clean confirmation card that spells out exactly what will happen, and waits. Nothing changes until you click Apply.

On Apply, Concierge can:

Connect an AI provider, so you have a model to think with. See Connect Your First Model.
Set your default model, so new conversations start with the model you want.
Add a connected tool, so an assistant can reach a new capability.
Edit an assistant, adjusting its model, skills, or instructions.

You confirm every change. The confirmation card is the gate: you see the proposed change first, and you decide whether it happens. You stay in control the whole way through, and you can dismiss a proposal instead of applying it.

Diagnostics and bug reports

Concierge also reads your workspace and configuration paths, so when something looks off it can point at the actual location on your machine. A /doctor command runs the workspace and configuration checks on demand.

When you want to report a problem, Concierge can file a detailed GitHub bug report for you in one click, attaching a screenshot and diagnostics so the report arrives complete.

A first v1

Concierge is the first version of this helper. It already reads your setup, answers your questions, and applies confirmed changes, and it is built to grow from here. Expect the set of things it can explain and set up to expand over time.
