Channels: Nextcloud Talk
Nextcloud Talk is a Tier 3 channel. Wayland connects to your Nextcloud instance as a user, using an app password rather than the account’s main password.
Before you start (prerequisites and accounts)
Section titled “Before you start (prerequisites and accounts)”- A Nextcloud instance with the Talk app, and an account Wayland can use.
- The Wayland desktop app running with a model provider connected.
Create the credentials (on the provider side)
Section titled “Create the credentials (on the provider side)”- Note the server URL of your Nextcloud instance.
- Note the username of the account Wayland will use.
- In that account’s security settings, create an app password for Wayland.
Connect it in Wayland (Settings -> Channels -> Nextcloud Talk)
Section titled “Connect it in Wayland (Settings -> Channels -> Nextcloud Talk)”- Open Settings -> Channels and choose Nextcloud Talk.
- Enter the Server URL.
- Enter the Username.
- Paste the App password.
- Save.
Verify (status goes from idle to connected, send a test message)
Section titled “Verify (status goes from idle to connected, send a test message)”After saving, the status moves from idle to connected. Add the account to a Talk conversation or message it directly, then confirm a reply.
Route to an assistant or team
Section titled “Route to an assistant or team”Set the assistant and default model on the Nextcloud Talk page. Inbound messages route to that assistant.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”A wrong server URL or an account password used in place of an app password is the usual cause of failures. Confirm the URL and generate a fresh app password if needed. See Channel Connection Issues.
