Channels: Nostr
Nostr is a Tier 3 channel. Wayland connects as a Nostr identity defined by a private key, and reaches the network through relays you list. You can also restrict which senders it responds to.
Before you start (prerequisites and accounts)
Section titled “Before you start (prerequisites and accounts)”- A Nostr private key for the identity Wayland should use.
- The Wayland desktop app running with a model provider connected.
Create the credentials (on the provider side)
Section titled “Create the credentials (on the provider side)”- Generate or choose a private key (in
nsecform). Keep it private: it is the full identity. - Choose the relays Wayland should connect to.
- Optionally list the allowed senders whose messages the assistant will answer.
Connect it in Wayland (Settings -> Channels -> Nostr)
Section titled “Connect it in Wayland (Settings -> Channels -> Nostr)”- Open Settings -> Channels and choose Nostr.
- Paste the Private key.
- Enter the Relays.
- Enter the Allowed senders if you want to restrict who can reach the assistant.
- Save.
Verify (status goes from idle to connected, send a test message)
Section titled “Verify (status goes from idle to connected, send a test message)”After saving, the status moves from idle to connected. Send a direct message to the identity from an allowed sender over one of the configured relays, then confirm a reply.
Route to an assistant or team
Section titled “Route to an assistant or team”Set the assistant and default model on the Nostr page. Inbound messages route to that assistant.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”If nothing arrives, confirm the relays are reachable and the sender is allowed. A wrong key form will prevent the identity from loading. See Channel Connection Issues.
