Channels: Synology Chat
Synology Chat is a Tier 3 channel. Wayland connects through Synology Chat’s webhook integrations: an incoming webhook that Wayland posts to, and an outgoing webhook that delivers messages to Wayland.
Before you start (prerequisites and accounts)
Section titled “Before you start (prerequisites and accounts)”- A Synology NAS running Synology Chat where you can add integrations.
- The Wayland desktop app running with a model provider connected.
Create the credentials (on the provider side)
Section titled “Create the credentials (on the provider side)”- In Synology Chat, create an incoming webhook integration and copy its URL and token.
- Create an outgoing webhook integration so Synology Chat sends messages to Wayland.
Connect it in Wayland (Settings -> Channels -> Synology Chat)
Section titled “Connect it in Wayland (Settings -> Channels -> Synology Chat)”- Open Settings -> Channels and choose Synology Chat.
- Enter the Incoming URL Wayland should post replies to.
- Enter the Incoming token.
- Turn on Allow insecure SSL only if your NAS uses a self-signed certificate you trust.
- Save.
- Point the outgoing webhook in Synology Chat at the URL shown on the page.
Verify (status goes from idle to connected, send a test message)
Section titled “Verify (status goes from idle to connected, send a test message)”After saving, the status moves from idle to connected. Send a message in the linked Synology Chat conversation and confirm a reply.
Route to an assistant or team
Section titled “Route to an assistant or team”Set the assistant and default model on the Synology Chat page. Inbound messages route to that assistant.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”If replies do not post, confirm the incoming URL and token. A self-signed certificate that is rejected can be allowed with the insecure SSL option. See Channel Connection Issues.
