Channels: WeChat
WeChat is a Tier 2 channel. Wayland connects to a WeChat account through a QR-code login rather than pasted API keys. You scan a code with the WeChat app to link the session.
Before you start (prerequisites and accounts)
Section titled “Before you start (prerequisites and accounts)”- A WeChat account you can sign in with.
- The Wayland desktop app running with a model provider connected.
Create the credentials (on the provider side)
Section titled “Create the credentials (on the provider side)”WeChat uses a scan-to-log-in flow, so there is nothing to copy in advance and no API token to paste. Have the WeChat app ready on your phone to scan a code. The account identifier comes back from the login itself; you do not type it.
Connect it in Wayland (Settings -> Channels -> WeChat)
Section titled “Connect it in Wayland (Settings -> Channels -> WeChat)”- Open Settings -> Channels and choose WeChat.
- Choose Log in and scan the QR code shown in the app with WeChat on your phone.
- Confirm the login on your phone. The page advances once the scan is accepted.
Verify (status goes from idle to connected, send a test message)
Section titled “Verify (status goes from idle to connected, send a test message)”After the scan is confirmed, the status moves from idle to connected. Send a WeChat message to the linked account and confirm a reply. If the session expires, log in again to re-scan.
Route to an assistant or team
Section titled “Route to an assistant or team”Set the assistant and default model on the WeChat page. Inbound messages route to that assistant.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”If login fails or expires, start the login again and re-scan the QR code. See Channel Connection Issues.
