Channels: MS Teams
Microsoft Teams is a Tier 2 channel. Wayland connects as a Teams bot registered in Azure. You register the app, create a client secret, and paste the resulting app ID and password.
Before you start (prerequisites and accounts)
Section titled “Before you start (prerequisites and accounts)”- A Microsoft 365 tenant where you can register an app and add a bot.
- The Wayland desktop app running with a model provider connected.
Create the credentials (on the provider side)
Section titled “Create the credentials (on the provider side)”- Register an application in Azure for the bot and note its App ID (the application/client ID).
- Create a client secret for the app and copy it as the App password.
- Configure the bot’s messaging endpoint and add the Teams channel, so Teams can deliver messages to the bot.
Connect it in Wayland (Settings -> Channels -> MS Teams)
Section titled “Connect it in Wayland (Settings -> Channels -> MS Teams)”- Open Settings -> Channels and choose MS Teams.
- Enter the App ID.
- Paste the App password.
- Save.
Verify (status goes from idle to connected, send a test message)
Section titled “Verify (status goes from idle to connected, send a test message)”After saving, the status moves from idle to connected. Message the bot in Teams and confirm a reply.
Route to an assistant or team
Section titled “Route to an assistant or team”Set the assistant and default model on the MS Teams page. Inbound Teams messages route to that assistant.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”A wrong app ID or expired secret prevents the bot from authenticating. Confirm both values and that the messaging endpoint is reachable. See Channel Connection Issues.
