Channels: BlueBubbles
BlueBubbles is a Tier 3 channel. It relays iMessage through a BlueBubbles server running on a Mac, which lets Wayland reach iMessage without running on that Mac itself. You provide the server URL and its password.
Before you start (prerequisites and accounts)
Section titled “Before you start (prerequisites and accounts)”- A Mac signed in to iMessage, running the BlueBubbles server.
- Network access from Wayland to the BlueBubbles server URL.
- The Wayland desktop app running with a model provider connected.
Create the credentials (on the provider side)
Section titled “Create the credentials (on the provider side)”- Install and configure the BlueBubbles server on a Mac signed in to iMessage.
- Note the server URL the BlueBubbles server is reachable at.
- Note the password set in the BlueBubbles server configuration.
Connect it in Wayland (Settings -> Channels -> BlueBubbles)
Section titled “Connect it in Wayland (Settings -> Channels -> BlueBubbles)”- Open Settings -> Channels and choose BlueBubbles.
- Enter the Server URL.
- Enter the Password.
- Save.
Verify (status goes from idle to connected, send a test message)
Section titled “Verify (status goes from idle to connected, send a test message)”After saving, the status moves from idle to connected. Send an iMessage to the account on the BlueBubbles Mac and confirm a reply.
Route to an assistant or team
Section titled “Route to an assistant or team”Set the assistant and default model on the BlueBubbles page. Inbound iMessages route to that assistant.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”If the connection fails, confirm the BlueBubbles server is running, the URL is reachable from this machine, and the password matches. For running iMessage directly on the same Mac, see iMessage. For more, see Channel Connection Issues.
